Elizabethtown United Soccer is a volunteer-run sports program committed to fostering a passion for the game by providing a safe, fun environment where our players can learn the value of teamwork, achieve individual success and develop a strong ethic of good sportsmanship. Coaches in our program agree to commit to the following principals:
Placing the emotional and physical wellbeing of players ahead of a personal desire to win.
Treating each player as an individual, remembering the large range of emotional and physical development for the same age group.
Doing our best to provide a safe, injury-free environment for players.
Preparing successful lesson plans that provide suitable instruction for the age, physical and emotional maturity, experience and ability of players.
Review and practice basic first aid principles needed to treat injuries of players.
Complete concussion training certification and state mandated background checks for volunteers.
Not leaving a child unattended on the field.
Leading by example in demonstrating respect, fair play and sportsmanship to all players.
Not cheating or engaging in any form of unethical behavior that violates league rules.
Keeping player information that is personal in nature confidential, including evaluations for selection purposes and disciplinary action.
Refraining from the use of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol at or before all team training sessions and matches.
Providing a sports environment for our teams that are free of abusive language and profanity.
Coaches will report to the Elizabethtown United Soccer president, or, if that person is not available, the vice-president, any issue or problem that arises with respect to the conduct of a coach, parent or player.
Coaches understand that any action inconsistent with this Code of Conduct may result in a removal from the position.
